Half Halt AI is an AI-powered equestrian coaching app. You upload a video of your riding lesson, and our AI analyses your position, balance, and technique, then gives you a detailed coaching report with personalised feedback and a score.

Yes. Every new account gets 100 free credits, which is enough for around 3 minutes of video. That's usually enough for one coaching report so you can see how it works before buying more.
No. You can use Half Halt AI straight from your browser at halfhalt.ai/app. We also have an Android app, and an iOS app is on the way.
Your video is uploaded securely, analysed by our AI, and then permanently deleted from our servers. We do not keep your videos. The only thing stored is the text coaching report and your scores.
When you upload a video, it's saved temporarily in your browser so you can watch it alongside the report. This local copy stays as long as your browser keeps it. If you clear your browser data or switch devices, the video won't be available, but your coaching report and scores are always there.
On the mobile app, the video is available for the session you uploaded it. For the best experience, review your report and share your results straight after uploading.
Yes. We use Firebase Authentication for secure login, all data is encrypted in transit, and videos are deleted after analysis. We never sell your data and we don't use advertising trackers. Paddle handles all payment processing, so we never see your card details. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
No. Your videos are analysed and immediately deleted. The AI coaching is provided by Anthropic (Claude), and data sent to Anthropic is not used to train their AI models.
Credits are based on video length. Roughly 30 credits per minute of video. A typical 2-minute lesson clip uses around 60 credits. Credits are only charged when an analysis completes successfully. If something goes wrong, you won't be charged.
Credits roll over month to month, but expire after 3 months of inactivity. As long as you're using the app, they'll stick around.

Yes, at any time. You can cancel from the Credits page in the app. Your credits remain available until they expire. No cancellation fees.
Half Halt AI uses body landmark detection to measure your joint angles, heel position, hand height, back angle, and balance. The AI then interprets these measurements to give coaching feedback. It's a helpful training tool for tracking your progress and identifying areas to work on, but it's not a replacement for a qualified instructor. Think of it as a second pair of eyes between lessons.
Your percentage score reflects your overall riding position and technique in that video. Scores are broken down into categories like Upper Body, Arms and Hands, Lower Leg, Balance, and Overall Impression. Use it to track your improvement over time rather than comparing with others.
Rosettes are awarded based on your score:
They're a fun way to celebrate your progress and share your results.
Yes. Every report has a Share button that creates a branded image with your rosette, score, horse name, and rider name. You can share it directly to WhatsApp, Instagram, or any other app.
Yes. There's a Read Aloud button on every report that reads the coaching feedback to you. Handy if you're at the yard and want to listen while you're with your horse.
For the best results:
1 to 5 minutes is ideal. That gives the AI enough to work with without using too many credits. You can upload up to 15 minutes, but shorter clips of focused work tend to give the most useful feedback.
The AI needs to detect a rider in at least 30% of the frames. If the rider is too far away, the video is very dark, or the camera is pointing at something else, it might not detect a rider. Try filming closer and from the side.
Yes. Go to your Profile page and scroll to Delete Account. This permanently removes your account, all coaching reports, and all data. Any remaining credits are forfeited and cannot be refunded.
Yes. On the Profile page there's an Export Data button that downloads all your coaching reports and account information.
Half Halt AI is available in 8 languages: English, German, Swedish, French, Norwegian, Spanish, Italian, and Portuguese. You can change the language in your Profile settings.
